My Two Cents: Chatting with maker of AAU basketball documentary ‘At All Costs’

Bill Engvall | My Two Cents Podcast

Welcome to the 15th episode of “My Two Cents” with comedian Bill Engvall, the show designed to make you laugh and think! Scroll to the bottom to listen to this week’s episode.

Special Guest Appearance: Mike Nicoli, director of At All Costs

Should college athletes be paid? That’s a discussion worth having, and Bill and his producer Austin have it on this episode before they’re joined by renowned documentary filmmaker Mike Nicoli, whose new documentary, At All Costs, suggests that youth athletes should not be paid. That may seem like a no-brainer, but as Mike explains, the AAU youth basketball circuit, which his film explores, has become an extension of professional basketball, with shoe companies and powerful youth basketball organizations fighting over players before many of them have even become teenagers.

Listen to the episode to find out Mike and Bill’s thoughts about how to fix this broken system, and make sure to check out the At All Costs website. You can also download the documentary on iTunes.
