Bill Engvall at Scottsdale Center for Performing Arts

Classic Bill Engvall bits include riffs about the perplexing job of child-raising and his famous "here's your sign" stories.

Such as: "I slam our skis up in the rack and the guy renting the car right next to me goes, 'You going skiing?'
"Nope, we put them on top of the car in case we flip over on an icy road. ... Here's your sign."

Engvall, best-known for his "Blue Collar Comedy Tour" gigs with Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy, performs Friday, Oct. 12, at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts.

Engvall, 55, developed and starred in "The Bill Engvall Show" from 2007 to 2009 and is working with his Blue Collar crew on a new CMT animated show called the "Bounty Hunters" to premiere next year. For 32 years, and in between the highs and lows of TV programming, he's continued to do stand-up.
