Paul Newman

This morning as I staggered to my computer still waking up I clicked on yahoo and was startled to read that Paul Newman had passed away. Now normally I read about celebrity passings and I am sorry. But this morning was especially hard. I never had the chance to meet Mr. Newman but he was always and will continue to be my favorite actor. I wish that our paths would have crossed at some point, even if it was just to say hello. From Cool Hand Luke to The color of Money he has been amazing. But more than that he seemed to be a genuine person, a man that cared. I am sad to think that there will be no more opportunities for a chance meeting with the man. So we have lost another great one, I guess the upside is that when we all go to meet our maker there are going to be some great entertainers waiting to thrill us again.

Bait Shop and a Third Season

Just wanted to let you know that Bait Shop is now in stores. It stars myself and Billy Ray Cyrus it is a clean, funny, family movie and I hope that you will pick it up. Also just got word the Bill Engvall Show has been picked up for a third season. Thank you all for your support of this show. I hope that you will enjoy the third season as well. Out on the road for more live shows this fall and I hope that I will see you out there.

Well i think we finally got this blog thing worked out. (I hope) So I hope that you are enjoying the Bill Engvall Show we are about finished filming for this year.  It has been a blast, I also wanted to tell you that my new movie will be out this summer on the USA network.  It is called Bait Shop and it stars Billy Ray Cyrus and obviously me.  It is another funny family movie.  The DVD will be out on Labor Day in your favorite movie rental store.  I was deeply saddened with the passing of George Carlin, he was a huge influence on me.  He will be greatly missed, I still laugh whenever I hear the Hippy Dippy Weatherman.  Well I hope that the gas prices dont have you to down and that you will be able to come see me live.  Just check out the tour page and hopefully we can meet on the road.  Take care

The Passing of an icon

Hey gang,

You know every morning I usually wake up with a smile on my face and this moring was no different. That was until I turned on the news and saw that one of my heroes has passed away. George Carlin was to me one of the best comedians I had ever seen. His brash style of comedy always made me laugh. He was truly what I would call a thinking mans comic. I had the chance to meet him one time and it is a meeting that I shall never forget. I have been a fan every since the Hippy Dippy weatherman came out. Whether you agreed with him or not George was in every since of the word a comedian. He made you think, he made you laugh, and he made you question what is really right in the world. I for one will miss George, and you just know that right now he is making those in heaven laugh and feel just a little uncomfortable. Thanks George, its been an honor to have been in your audience.
